J1 Accom and its CEO, Paul McCabe, would like to offer an apology to Paddy Pads for the false statements and allegations made in two Instagram stories in January 2026 and for numerous phone calls, DMs, and texts in which defamatory statements about Paddy Pads were directed to J1 Visa travelers in an effort to prevent them from joining Paddy Pads this summer at Dwight Lofts. We fabricated false statements about their banking and financial operations, claiming that funds were going to the Middle East. It was not true that J1Accomm chose to leave Dwight Lofts because it was a dry building, due to changing visitor policies, or because of ownership. We intended to renew our lease at Dwight Lofts before Paddy Pads was chosen instead. We posted a link to a news article warning students to be aware of rental scams, but we changed the headline to falsely name Paddy Pads as the scammers. Please accept our sincere apology for our behavior and the panic it caused.
