We're thrilled to share the big exciting updates for Chicago this summer.
Last year, well over a thousand Irish J1ers made J1Accom their home in the America, and for Summer 2026 we're taking things to a whole new level in Chicago!
After months of planning and preparing; this year we're moving to our biggest, best and most affordable building ever!!!
The building and the location speaks for itself. Sitting right in the Loop, next to Grant Park, this is the best spot we've ever had in Chicago. Closer to all the action within the city and a modern skyrise with a skyline view that no other J1er in the city could imagine, the ultimate launch pad for a summer in the sun in Chicago!
As we will be taking the top floors of the building: our apartments starts from the 19th floor and runs all the way up to the top of the 29th floor, with uninterrupted panoramic views across the city including Lollapalooza and the Navy Pier fireworks that light up the sky every Wednesday and Saturday throughout the summer. There is genuinely nowhere better to be.
Staying with J1Accom means more than just a place to sleep. You'll have access to exclusive organised social events, community activities, exclusive prizes, and the largest networks of Irish J1 students anywhere in Chicago. Staying within our community brings with it all of the buzz that has made ChiTown famous for Irish over the past few years!
We're also bringing back our hugely popular discounted buses to and from Gaelic Park, along with the legendary J1Accom mega Boat Party, exclusively for our residents only.
Following an incredibly successful 2025 season, Summer 2026 will be our biggest and best Chicago summer yet, with more beds, more events, and more opportunities to connect, explore and enjoy the city than ever before. J1Accom Boat Party
The legendary J1Accom boat party has really made a name for itself over the last few years. Think of this: hundreds of Irish J1 students cruising through Lake Michigan with the skyline of Chicago in the background. Truly an experience.
It's the event of the summer not be missed. Keep an eye on our socials for details on the event througout the summer.
Last year we launched the J1Accom run club in Chicago. This was a massive success which saw a huge turnout. We meet 1-2 times a week and run along lake michgan. Join us for a swim and coffee after too!
This is suitable for people of all abilities and every can run at their own pace, no pressure whatsoever. Just good craic.

Navy Pier
Stretching out into Lake Michigan, Navy Pier is a massive waterfront playground that offers some of the best skyline views in the city. For a true Chicago experience, you can ride the Centennial Wheel or grab a group of friends for a cruise on the lake to see the city’s world-famous architecture from the water.
Check out Offshore, which holds the record as the world’s largest rooftop bar, offering a trendy atmosphere and fire pits for chilly lakefront nights. Between the free firework displays and the food halls serving up deep-dish pizza, it’s a perfect spot for to hang out.
